From November 18 to 24, 2024, Groupama took part in the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, through several actions to raise awareness of disability and inclusion.

A great opportunity to reaffirm the Group’s commitment to these issues.

What are the priority actions concerning disability for the 2024/2027 period?

  1. Pursue and revitalize communication in the context of the actions undertaken.
  2. Reaffirm our commitment to all forms of Diversity and Inclusion, with a particular focus on certain issues, including disability.
  3. Confirm the importance of enriching the information presented with regard to any current issues within the framework of the annual Diversity Monitoring Commission, a forum for discussion between management and trade unions.

What measures are already in place to support disabled employees and their carers?

For employees recognized as having a disability, a number of measures are in place, such as personalized and confidential support from the Diversity Correspondent / Disability Referent for each company, workstation and work organization adjustments in line with the recommendations of the occupational physician and management, easier access to part-time work, easier access to the workplace (nearby parking, car-pooling, etc.) or special attention to vocational training.

Employees with a disabled spouse can take advantage of flexible working hours, part-time work, or paid leave of absence of 3 days per calendar year to accompany their spouse in administrative formalities or medical examinations related to the disability.

Employees who are the parents of a disabled child can benefit from paid leave for the announcement of a disability, a chronic pathology requiring therapeutic training, or cancer in a child, as well as flexible working hours where appropriate, and easier recourse to part-time work, 5 paid days’ paid leave per calendar year to carry out administrative procedures and/or medical examinations related to the disability, paid leave for a sick child in the event of illness or accident certified by a doctor (maximum 3 days per year if the child is under 16, maximum 5 days per year if the child is under 1 or if the employee is responsible for three or more children under 16.

What’s new in Groupama’s disability action plan?

– An increase in the allowance paid to employees with a disabled child to €1,440 per year, retroactive to June 1, 2024;

– An increase in the number of days of authorized absence: 5 per year (compared with 3 previously), retroactive to June 1, 2024.

These measures are in addition to those already in place under the Group Diversity Agreement of June 4, 2021.

They involve awareness-raising actions and proactive, comprehensive support for employees with disabilities or with a spouse and/or child with disabilities (under certain conditions).
