As part of its corporate plan "Envie 2020", GGVie decided to support managers in their role and to increase their skills. Initiated in 2016 and launched in 2017 and 2018, this programme contributes significantly to the company's transformation.
As part of its strategic project, GGVie has taken on a common identity and values: boldness, performance, a service-minded attitude and exemplary conduct. The first step of the Manag’envie programme was to outline the management behaviour required to reflect these four values to the 250 GGVie managers, who were divided into three groups. A key message was spread throughout all the sessions: feel rather than think. Feel to what extent this management behaviour can generate engagement on the part of employees but also success for managers.
After the acculturation phase came the training. Manag’up, an 18-month training programme, was launched in 2017. It involves nine and a half days on site, and a number of important teaching tools are made available to participants throughout these 18 months. These include serious game, e-learning and Gymnase du Management. All managers are divided into groups of people who take part in the same training classes. They are first attended by the Management Committee, and then by everyone else in hierarchical order, all the way down to local managers.
Moreover each manager is given a comprehensive feedback tool halfway through the course. Participants are given a lot of support, and receive their results with a coach who helps to interpret them and to build a personal development plan with them.
