Career

Sylvain Merlus is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and ENSAE engineering schools, and a member of the French Institute of Actuaries. He began his career at the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance in the Inspectorate General of Finance, then at the Insurance Control Commission (now the ACPR) as a supervisory commissioner.

In 2003, he joined Groupama in the Group Audit & Actuarial department. In 2005, he became head of Group Management Control within the Finance Department.

At the beginning of 2008, he was appointed Director of Group Insurance, then, at the end of 2011, Director of Life Insurance & Savings within Groupama Assurances Mutuelles. In 2013, he became Director of Collectives at Groupama Gan Vie. In 2015, he became Deputy Managing Director of Groupama Centre-Atlantique. In January 2019, he was appointed Managing Director of Groupama Centre-Atlantique.

In April 2024, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive  Officer of Groupama Assurances Mutuelles
